Delcie Pauline Heiny, 87, Lapel, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Hooverwood Nursing Home in Indianapolis following a period of declining health. She was born on Nov. 26, 1925, in Overton County, Tenn., to Edward and Verdie (Spicer) Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lawrence Heiny; daughters, Diana Stafford of Fortville, Sharon Yoder of Indianapolis, Cathy Heiny of Indianapolis, Janet Van der Veer of Fairfax, Va., and Lynnette Heiny of Albuquerque, N.M.; 6 grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bill, Loyd, Dustin, and J. B. Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Veachel Smith; and sisters, Ruby, Jewel, Lola, and Alma.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, atScott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
