Betty L. Steffey, 81, of Pendleton passed away January 17, 2017, at IU Health Saxony Hospital- Fishers. She was born January 21, 1935, in Greencastle and was an Indianapolis and Louisville, Ky. resident before moving to Pendleton in 1997.

She was a homemaker, but Miss Betty loved to greet and serve customers at R&R Market in Pendleton where she assisted for several years.

Survivors include her son, Mark (Debbie) Steffey of Richmond; daughter, Kathy (Ralph) Ridenour of Pendleton; three grandchildren, Tyler (Melanie) Stroh, Misty Stroh and Emily Steffey; brother-in-law, John Willis of Kokomo; sister-in-law, Barbara Magendanz of Indianapolis; brother-in-law, Daniel (Judy) Steffey of Plant City, Fla.; sister-in-law, Mary Wilder of Indianapolis; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend and caregiver, Sherry Robertson.

Betty was preceded in death her parents, Fred and Ida (Tobin) Magendanz, Sr.; husband of 40 years, Harry E. Steffey; and siblings, Anna Marie Johnson, Virginia Ketchum, Mary Willis, Fred Magendanz, Jr. and Peggy Magendanz.

Visitation was Noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, at Lahm Chapel. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with Pastor Jesse Flood officiating. Burial followed in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
