Pendleton softball falls to Noblesville

NOBLESVILLE — The Noblesville Millers played longball Thursday, handing the Pendleton Heights Arabian softball team a 13-6 loss.

For Pendleton Heights (13-4), it is the first time this season they have lost back-to-back games.

Maddie Moore, Abby Brown and Grace Smith homered for Noblesville (7-6) as the Millers scored seven unanswered runs after the Arabians had battled back to tie the game at six.

A Kelsey Sturgeon home run and an RBI double by Lauren Landes highlighted a four-run fourth as Pendleton Heights pulled even.

But the Noblesville offense proved to be too much for the Arabian pitching staff. Moore and Brown home runs in the bottom half of the fourth put Noblesville ahead for good.

Landes led off the game with a home run for Pendleton Heights. Friday’s game at Hamilton Southeastern and Saturday’s game against second-ranked Center Grove were postponed because of weather.
