Arabian golfers open fall sports season

PENDLETON–It was just their first dual meet of the season, but the Pendleton Heights girls’ golf team kicked off the season in positive fashion with a 213-217 win over Hoosier Heritage Conference foe Mt. Vernon at Fall Creek Golf Club.

Sophomore Danielle Tinsley was medalist for the event with a 46 and was followed closely by teammate, senior Kiersten Maxwell with a 48.

Junior Haley Brown shot a 53 and freshman Ryann Norris rounded out the team’s scoring with a personal best 67.

Tinsley shot a 91 Monday as the team started, not only their own season, but kicked off the fall sports season by participating in the Plainfield Invitational at Deer Creek Golf Course in Clayton.

Tinsley shot a 49 on the front nine, but rebounded, coming in with a 42.

Maxwell shot a 102 and Brown fired a 108 for the Arabians while Norris made her competitive debut with a 144.

Pendleton Heights placed sixth in the 10 team field.

PHHS will visit Anderson Thursday at 4:15 p.m. before a trip to Monroe Central Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
