Arabians challenge top-ranked Trojans; defeat Park Tudor

INDIANAPOLIS–A near flawless match for return of service and a pair of dominant middle hitters helped power Pendleton Heights to a 26-24, 25-23, 25-17 win at Indianapolis Park Tudor Wednesday evening.

The Arabians improved to 13-13 this season while the Panthers fell to 12-5.

Pendleton Heights did not give away points to the Park Tudor serve. Of 59 Panther deliveries, the Arabians only committed two errors, with senior Brinkley Gary and sophomore Ally Hall combining for a perfect 44 out of 44.

The Arabians attacked with sophomore middle hitters Averi Lanman and Gracie King, with Lanman recording 14 kills and King adding 13.

Sophomore Aubree Dwiggins handed out 29 assists and three aces and junior Gracie Criswell added three aces for the Arabians. Senior Michelle Merryman had three blocks for Pendleton Heights.

PENDLETON–The Arabians gave the state’s top-ranked class 3A team all it wanted Tuesday night, before New Castle prevailed 25-18, 25-22, 25-27, 25-22.

Lanman and King had 14 kills each and Lanman added two blocks. Dwiggins had 28 assists and four aces and Hall led the Arabians with eight digs.

Gary added six kills and five digs.
