LAPEL — The Lapel girls basketball team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 63-33 win against Elwood on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

The Bulldogs took a modest 20-14 lead into halftime but went on to score 22 and 21 points in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.

Senior Breanna Boles led all scorers with 28 points on 12-of-19 shooting. She was 4 of 9 from 3-point range and recorded a double-double with 12 rebounds.

Sophomore Delany Peoples also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. She made four of her six shots from the court and, along with fellow sophomore Zoe Freer, led Lapel with five assists.

Sophomore Makynlee Taylor was another Bulldogs player to score in double digits. She had 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting and added three points from the free-throw line.

Lapel was scheduled to play next on Nov. 22 against Alexandria.
