Janet Elaine Blair

Janet Elaine (Craig) Blair, 70, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on March 23, 2018. She was born on March 3, 1948, in New Castle and was a lifelong resident of Anderson.

She enjoyed a long career of teaching kindergarten and first grade for the Frankton-Lapel school system from 1971 to 2003. She loved teaching so much that she also taught Sunday School for many years at Edgewood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl and Emogene (Jones) Craig. She leaves behind a family that loves her greatly; her husband and best friend, Roy V. Blair, with whom she enjoyed life side by side for 46 years, being each other’s greatest earthly love and encouragement.

Her children; Andrea (Chris) McClure of Anderson and Nathan (Misty) Blair of South Bend. They are thankful for the sweet and Godly example of a mother that she was to them. She has six grandchildren that adore her: Mark, Abigail and Benjamin McClure of Anderson and Riley, Hayden and Audrey Blair of South Bend.

We will all miss her greatly but rejoice that she has gone home to be with the Lord. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Edgewood Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Andy Lutz. Burial will follow at the Perkinsville Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church two hours prior to the funeral on Thursday.
