PENDLETON — Indiana State Police Pendleton District conducted its annual memorial service May 24 to remember ISP employees who lost their lives in the line of duty. Troopers of the district were brought to attention and the Indiana State Police Honor Guard presented the colors. Roll call of the fallen was read by Area Captain Robert Burke and Pendleton District Commander Lieutenant Tony Delello.

An Indiana State Police chaplain gave an invocation, and members of the honor guard presented the national and state flags. After the roll call of the fallen, students from Anderson High School played “Amazing Grace” on bagpipes, and a bugler played “Taps.”

Forty-six ISP employees have lost their lives in the line of duty since the department was formed in 1933. Memorial services take place each May at all ISP districts to perpetuate the memory of those who have died in the line of duty.
