DENVER — Katie Duncan of Pendleton, a 10th-grade student at Abeka Academy Homeschool, has earned a position on the Indiana National High School rodeo team.

Duncan will travel with fellow teammates to Rock Springs, Wyoming, where they will compete at the 70th annual National High School Finals Rodeo from July 15 to 21.

She will compete in the rodeo association’s queen competition.

The rodeo will feature more than 1,650 contestants from 43 states, five Canadian provinces, Australia and Mexico.

Competitors will be vying for more than $200,000 in prizes, $350,000 in college scholarships and the chance to be named a national rodeo world champion.
