Only graduated seniors were eligible to take part in the game.

The football classic includes players from 48 East Central Indiana high schools.

Two East Team players recently played for the Lapel Bulldogs during their high school careers.

Tony DeLillo is 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, and was linebacker and long snapper. He was a four-year varsity player and starter.

Also on the East Team was former Bulldog Caleb Bloom, who at 6-4 and 240 pounds was a tight end and also a four-year varsity starter.

DeLillo made several tackles and had a key fumble recovery in the all-star game, which ended in East beating West 37-19.

DeLillo, who also was selected to the 2017 all-area team, plans to attend University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne this fall.

Bloom, who also was selected as the part of the 2017 all-area team, plans to attend University of Northwestern in St. Paul, Minnesota. Bloom was also a second team all-state player and made the state’s academic all-state team.

Aaron Candiano, a recent Pendleton Heights High School graduate and a tight end, also was on the East Team. He is headed to DePauw University.

Most of the players in the game were also players who had been named to all-conference, all-area or all-state teams from the fall 2017 high school season and plan to continue playing football in college.

The head coach for the East team was Tim Able of Triton Central, while the head coach of the West team was Mark Hartman of Marion High School.
