Local art society offers jewelry class

PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society plans several upcoming art classes at Gallery 119 in Pendleton:

• Jewelry Class with Tracy Davidson — 1 to 5 p.m. July 22. Participants will get to create a 16- to 18-inch sterling mixed link necklace. There will be instruction on different sizes of silver links and clasps. Forming, texture and light soldering will be used. All supplies are included in the price of $60.

The gallery is located at 119 W. State St.

People can register during regular gallery hours, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, or by phone at 765-778-0986.

Men’s breakfast set for July 21

MARKLEVILLE — The Christian Men’s Fellowship plans its monthly breakfast for 8 to 10 a.m. July 21 in the lower level of the East Christian Church, 124 E. Main St., Markleville.

The church is accessible to people with disabilities.

There will be carryout available.

The menu includes biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee. A free-will offering will be accepted.

The next monthly breakfast is scheduled for Aug. 18.

Trigeminal neuralgia group to meet

PENDLETON — The Central Indiana Trigeminal Neuralgia Support group, which is a part of the National Facial Pain Association, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Trinity Life Center, 5900 South State Road 13, Pendleton.

Eden Bair will be guest speaker.

Bair will speak about prescription pain-relieving drugs and their side effects and toll they take. Bair will talk about her trigeminal neuralgia and how she went through pain rehab at Mayo Clinic.

Blair is associate professor of entrepreneurship at Bradley University. She teaches courses in new venture creation, entrepreneurial creativity and social entrepreneurship.

Trigeminal neuralgia affects one in every 25,000 people. Symptoms include sharp, stabbing electrical shocks to one side of the face that may last from seconds to hours at a time.

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Red Hat Chicks will meet at noon July 18 at Gingers, 1804 Conner St., Noblesville.

Jamboree has room for more sellers

MARKLEVILLE —Markleville Jamboree and Town Rummage is planned for Aug. 3 and 4 in the town park.

There will be an “Honoring our Hometown Heroes” display at the park stage.

Organizers ask people to bring a photo with a few words about their local heroes (heroes must have grown up in or around Markleville).

Pictures, which must be dropped off at the park between 5 and 6 p.m. Aug. 2, will be used to decorate the stage.

Swim lessons planned at Brown pool

PENDLETON — The DiveIn! 2 Swim: Every Child Can Swim Initiative is planned for this summer at Alvin D. Brown Memorial Swimming Pool in Pendleton.

Children 4 and older who live in Fall Creek, Green, Adams or Stonybrook townships and whose families cannot afford to pay for lessons are eligible for free lessons with certified instructors this summer at the pool in Pendleton.

Lessons are one hour per day — 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. — for one week, Monday to Friday.

The program is funded through community donations from individuals, businesses and organizations, such as the Open Heart Open Purses program at South Madison Community Foundation.
