PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights girls soccer was in action Saturday, Aug. 25, during its own invitational, during which it dropped a 6-3 decision against a tough Chesterton team.

Weather played a factor, as only two of the four teams scheduled to play participated because of heavy rain.

In the one game the weather permitted, all the scoring happened in the first half, with Claire Fendel scoring two goals for the Arabians, and Emma Adams adding one. Assists went to Taylor Fort (2) and Jayden Brown.

The Arabians earned a 5-3 win against Richmond on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Pendleton Heights got the victory despite struggling with injuries, coach Mark Davy said.

Fendel scored two, and Sarah Dix, Anna Childers and Helena Talbot each added one. Assists came from Lexi Hill (2), Dix, Talbot and Fort.

The Arabians were set to take their 3-1-1 record and open Hoosier Heritage Conference play against Greenfield-Central High School on Wednesday, Aug. 29 (after press time).
