MARION — The Arabians’ cross country team made the most of its travels to Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion to compete in the Marion Invite last week.

The varsity team finished in first place in the large school Purple Division.

Leading the Arabians was freshman Laney Ricker, who finished fifth overall with a time of 21:40.

Other finishers for the Arabians included Katie Jones, ninth; Hailee Brunnemer, 10th; Maddy McKee, 12th; Catherine Dudley, 15th; Berkeley Lord, 18th; Betsy McKinney, 27th; Haleigh Auler, 31st; Riley Hays, 33rd; Sy Carter, 38th; and Elizabeth Welpott, 43rd.

Junior Jenna Blackwell competed in the boys and girls combined junior/senior division and placed 157th overall.

Freshman Claire Wittkamper led the Arabians in the boys and girls combined freshman/sophomore race and finished in 237th place overall with a time of 24.08.

Other finishers in this race were Madison Brunnemer, 243rd; Ashley Alderman, 257th; Ella Dixon, 271st; Payton Brunnemer, 356th; and Zoe Kesler, 381st.
