MUNCIE — The Pendleton Heights girls cross country team heads into sectional action at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at home.

They’ll be coming in on a high note.

The Arabians took part in the Hoosier Heritage Conference Championship meet Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Muncie SportsPlex. Delta High School played host.

The top 15 runners in each varsity race received All-HHC medals, with the lowest-scoring team being crowned the HHC champion.

The Arabians came in second with 66 points behind first place New Palestine with 21 points. The Dragons are ranked as one of the top 20 teams in the state.

The overall winner was Brenna Shaw of New Palestine with a time of 19:09. Arabians freshman Catherine Dudley finished with a season-best time of 20:50, placing ninth overall.

Dudley earned all-conference honors along with teammates Katie Jones, a freshman, who came in 10th; Hailee Brunnemer, a freshman, who finished 12th; and Maddy McKee, a sophomore, who finished 14th.

Other Arabian runners were Laney Ricker, freshman, 16th; Riley Hays, senior, 17th; and Berkeley Lord, freshman, 20th.

The Pendleton Heights boys cross country team also competed in the conference meet, where it finished fourth with 89 points.

Milan Jones won his second consecutive individual conference title.

Jones, along with Sean Roan who placed ninth, earned all- conference honors.

The boys also will be in sectional action at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Pendleton Heights.
