ANDERSON — The trial for a Pendleton man charged with child exploitation, possession of child pornography and human trafficking has been set for 8:30 a.m. Oct. 29.

Jeffrey P. Kramer, 48, Pendleton, was arrested by Indiana State Police April 12, and asked for a speedy trial soon after his arrest. His trial was scheduled for June 11.

That request was withdrawn by his court-appointed attorney, Bryan Williams, in May, and Madison County Superior Court 6 Judge Mark Dudley reset the trial for October.

Dudley also denied a repeated request from Williams to reduce the $20,000 cash bond in May, and Kramer has remained in jail pending trial.

In the initial filing of the 36-count indictment against Kramer, ISP Communications Officer John Bowling said detectives were assigned to the case in January after they received an anonymous tip about suspected child pornography.

The investigation led police to images of a girl under the age of 18 from another state.

Police said Kramer allegedly met the girl on an online dating site.

According to the document released by ISP, Kramer allegedly began grooming the girl online for a sexual encounter at a later date.

During the investigation, police allegedly found numerous images of the girl and ultimately charged him with multiple counts ranging from child exploitation, management and video to a separate count of human trafficking and more than 30 counts of possession of child pornography.

If convicted of all charges, Kramer could be sentenced to a maximum of 58 years on the Levels 3, 4 and 5 felonies and up to 75 years on the 30 charges of the Level 6 of child exploitation, according to the Indiana Code on penalties.

He also could be fined up to $10,000 on each count.
