Lapel Lady Bulldogs hit the hardwood tonight in search of their first win of the season

LAPEL — Lapel girls hoops is looking for its first win of the season at 7:30 p.m. today in a home game against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial.

The Bulldogs lost their season opener 51-35 at home against Westfield High School Tuesday, Oct. 30, in a tale of two halves.

Lapel came out in control and led 9-7 after the first quarter and 21-18 at the half.

In the third quarter, however, things got away from the Bulldogs. Lapel was outscored 18-5, and it was on the short end of 15-9 scoring in the fourth quarter.

Senior Kylie Rich led the Bulldogs with 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Junior Delany Peoples added eight points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal. Juniors Makynlee Taylor and Morgan Knepp each scored five points in the loss.

Lapel hits the road for its first away game of the season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, against Muncie Burris.
