Local man elected to lead industry group

CHICAGO — Christopher J. Boots, president of C.J. Boots Casket Co. in Anderson, is the new president of the Casket & Funeral Supply Association of America (CFSA).

Boots was elected to serve as president at the association’s October Fall Conference & Trade Show in Columbus, Ohio.

Boots, who also serves on the South Madison Community Schools board, is the 69th person elected to the top CFSA post in the association’s 105-year history.

“Chris is a strong leader, well-positioned in the industry, and is prepared and ready to guide our association to the next level,” said George A. Buckley Jr., executive director of the association. “He brings solid business acumen, vast knowledge and grassroots experience. We know he will be a wonderful guide for our talented board of directors.”

Boots previously served five years on the CFSA board of directors, including as vice president (2017-18) and treasurer (2016-17).
