Correctional facility staff promoted

PENDLETON — Pendleton Correctional Facility (PCF) Warden Dushan Zatecky announced the promotion of Andrew Bagienski and Johnathan “J.C.” Jackson to the rank of Correctional Lieutenant.

Bagienski began his career at PCF in 2004 as a correctional officer, and in 2009 he promoted to the rank of correctional sergeant.

During his tenure Bagienski has been a member of the facility’s Emergency Squad, is certified as a Quick Response Team member, is trained in transporting offenders off grounds and in facility tower operations, serves as the assistant safety hazard manager and is a member of the Opioid Response Team for the facility and the Indiana Department of Correction.

Jackson began his career at PCF in 2002 as a correctional officer and was promoted to the rank of correctional sergeant in 2012. Jackson has been a member of the Situation Control Team, Emergency Squad, K-9 Unit, Honor Guard, Quick Response Team, Sexual Assault Response Team, Field Training Officer, Self Defense Instructor, Security Skills Instructor, Quick Response Team Instructor and is licensed in pest control.

“The field of well-qualified candidates for correctional lieutenant was immense, but in the end these two individuals have taken the initiative to expand their knowledge and expertise beyond the basic correctional training. As correctional lieutenants, Andrew and J.C. will mentor and guide our less-experienced staff in identifying, assessing and effectively controlling hazardous situations,” Zatecky said.
