INDIANAPOLIS — State Rep. Bob Cherry (R-Greenfield) recently welcomed local student pages to the Statehouse.Among them were Dane Reddington, from Pendleton, who attends Pendleton Intermediate School; and Reese Reddington, from Pendleton, who attends Pendleton Heights Middle School. Pages tour the governor’s office, the House and Senate chambers, and the Indiana Supreme Court. They also help staff with their daily tasks. “Participating as a page is a great way to explore the Statehouse and gain more perspective on the legislative process,” Cherry said in a press release. “Some students who participated as pages came back later as an intern for the House of Representatives. This opportunity can open the door for them to pursue an internship at the Statehouse while in college.” Students ages 13 to 18 who are interested in paging during the 2020 session can learn more at indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram.

Participants receive an excused absence from school, and groups can request to page together.
