The released stated even with the reception center closed, volunteer efforts will continue through the weekend in coordination with the Indiana State VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters) using “highly specialized disaster response teams.”
“Starting next week, volunteers will be coordinated on an as needed basis by scheduling these specialized disaster response teams and deploying them to specific areas in need,” the release stated.
American Red Cross will remain at Pendleton Christian Church for the time being, providing assistance to families who have been effected by the tornado.
