‘Germinate’ yields first-place award

PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society named the winners of its June members show recently at Gallery 119, located at 119 W. State St., Pendleton.

Karen Fisher, artist, businesswoman and president of the Muncie Artist Guild, was judge for the event.

Awards of $50, $30 and $20 were awarded to the top three choices.

• First place — Jerry Mannell for oil painting titled “Germinate.”

• Second place — Barry Gray for graphite work “Marley.”

• Third place — Matthew Blanchfield for pen, ink and pencil “Brothers At Paws.”

• People’s Choice — Mariella Axline for mixed media/epoxy resin cast “Stronger Than Life.”

• Honorable Mentions — Judy Crist for fiber felting”Wolf;” Katy Burke for oil painting “My Boys;” Gini Deaton for oil painting “Sunset Sentinel;” Brenda Morris-Jarrett for digital print on canvas “Have You Seen The Ice Cream Man?” Susan Fullen for copper, resin “Lighted Copperennials;” Gini Deaton for oil painting “Spring’s Favorite Perfrume;” Diane Burrell for acrylic “Boats.”

The show continues through June 29.

Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
