INGALLS — With the expectation of a large crowd of interested residents to be in attendance, the Monday, Oct. 21 Ingalls Board of Zoning Appeals meeting has been moved to Maple Ridge Elementary School, located at 8537 S. County Road 650W in Pendleton.

The meeting, set to begin at 7 p.m., was originally scheduled to be at Ingalls Town Hall.

The main topic of the meeting is a request for a use variance for an expansion for the business Newco Metals, located near Interstate 69 and State Road 13.

At recent town council meetings, board members and residents have stated concerns over the company’s proposed Element 13 aluminum processing plant.

Representatives of the company approached the board in August requesting an amendment to extend a tax abatement resolution for the development.

Town council president Justin Gardner informed Newco that before the board can vote on any extension, it must get approval from the BZA.

The next town council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at Town Hall.
