MARKLEVILLE — It was a celebration to those who do things for the love of the town.

Last month, Markleville conducted a dedication ceremony for the completions of road construction projects, including the recent culvert repairs that opened both Home Avenue and South State Street.

Town council president Daniel Roseberry said, along with marking the opening of the roads, the town wanted to praise the volunteers who helped.

Roseberry said the projects included the repaving of one-third of the roads in the town, replacing two culverts and repairing two others.

The town also thanked the police and fire departments for their service.

“We wanted to show appreciation to everyone that makes Markleville the home it is today,” Roseberry said.
