1820 group seeks public input

PENDLETON — The 1820 Society committee is planning a public meeting sy 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20 in the Community Room at the Pendleton Community Public Library, 595 E. Water St.

The goal is to get public input into plans for the town’s bicentennial celebrations.

A book is in the works, titled “A Celebration of Pendleton, 1820 to 2020 — then and now,” a patron pages are still available for purchase. These are available to businesses, churches and other organizations.

The committee also wants to work with groups interested in taking on bicentennial-themed projects to help the town celebrate throughout the year.

The year not only marks Pendleton’s 200th anniversary, but the Heritage Fair and Pendleton Heights High School turn 50 and Falls Park turns 100.

The 1820 Society meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday each month at Pendleton Town Hall.
