HANCOCK COUNTY — A tip called in to the Indiana State Police Post in Pendleton led to the arrest of an escaped felon and the recovery of a stolen vehicle just inside the Hancock County line on Interstate 70.
About 6 p.m. Jan. 12, a trooper was alerted to a possible stolen vehicle crossing from Ohio into Indiana, the state police said in a news release.
The trooper located a Chrysler 300 matching the description of the stolen vehicle on I-70 westbound in Henry County.
After confirming the car was stolen, the trooper stopped the vehicle just inside Hancock County, at the 112-mile marker.
Dionni King, 18, Lake Station, Indiana, was taken into custody and found to be wanted on a warrant out of Lake County for escape. King was arrested on the felony warrant and charged with unauthorized control of a motor vehicle, a Level 6 felony; and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was taken to Henry County Jail.
