Cabaret at the Commons coming up

LAPEL — The annual Lapel Music Department “Cabaret in the Commons” will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Lapel High School.

The Jazz Band and LHS Show Choir will perform in an elegant setting as guests enjoy a gourmet meal.

The menu for the evening will be Italian roasted chicken breast, glazed carrots, twice-baked potato casserole, salad, roll, dessert and drinks.

The main course will be served by show choir members as the jazz band plays; then the jazz band members will serve dessert as the show choir performs.

This annual benefit raises money for an international cause as well as a worthy charity close to home.

This year students voted to have money go to Australia to help with injured and displaced animals and locally to the Dove House in Anderson.

About one-fourth of profits will be split between the two groups participating to help with upcoming trips as tips and fees.

Cabaret tickets cost $15 for the meal and entertainment. For those who want to listen to the music only from the perimeter, a $5 donation is requested.

Tickets may be purchased by calling the high school choir office at 765-534-3036, ext. 5115.
