Art classes planned at Gallery 119

PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society offers art classes at Gallery 119, 119 W. State St. in Pendleton.

Oil Painting with Katy Burke — Wednesday, March 4. Participants will paint a soaring eagle. All materials will be provided for a class fee of $55. Those using their own paint pay $45. Canvas will be provided.

Acrylic Painting with Diane Burrel — 6 to 9 p.m. March 10, 17, 24 and 31. Participants will work on subject matter provided or of their own choice. The class works mostly in acrylic, but other media are accepted. All levels of painters are welcome. A variety of techniques including pallet knife, glazes and mixed media will be explored. Class fee is $55 for the four evenings. People must bring their own supplies. Canvas and palette available for $15. A supply list is available at Gallery 119.

Oil Painting with Gini — 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14. Participants will get to paint an old barn and red truck with Gini Deaton. They will learn about shapes, values and colors, as well as a wet-into-wet method called alla prima. There will be a break for lunch. All supplies will be included in the $60 class fee. All levels of painters are welcome.

Begining Watercolor Class with Judy Crist — 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 15. Participants in this beginner class will paint a red bird. Class fee is $35, with all supplies provided to complete a painting.

Jewelry Class with Tracy Davidson — 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 22. Davidson will teach participants to make components of jewelry by hand out of sterling, copper and jewelers gold. Fee for the beginner class is $50 and includes all supplies and tools.

Recycled Art Show set at Gallery 119

PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society will open a “recycled art” show with a reception from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Gallery 119 in Pendleton.

The show will feature artistic creations made from discarded materials that once served another purpose.

Stephanie Cochran will judge the show.

The public is invited to vote for its favorite artwork, to determine the People’s Choice Award winner.

The show will continue at the gallery during regular business hours through April 1.

The gallery, located at 119 W. State St., is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Sons breakfast set for March 7

PENDLETON — Sons of AMVETS plans an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at AMVETS Post 26, located at 939 S. Broadway St., Pendleton.

The menu will include biscuits and gravy, hash browns, French toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs or eggs to order, and coffee, milk or juice.

The cost is $8 per person.

The post is a smoking facility. People must be 18 older to enter.

Pain group meeting planned in Pendleton

PENDLETON — Facial Pain Association Trigeminal Neuralgia Support Group of Central Indiana plans a care and share meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Trinity Life Center, 5900 South State Road 13, Pendleton.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about trigeminal neuralgia and facial pain through the experiences of others. They also will be able to talk about their own pain with people who understand what the pain is like.

Markleville church plans comedy night

MARKLEVILLE — North Christian Church, 32 N. State St., Markleville, plans a family-friendly comedy night for 6 p.m. Saturday, March 14.

Admission costs $10 per person.
