Pillow during COVID-19

Editor’s note: The following story is written by a students in Kandi Martin’s fifth-grade class at Lapel Elementary School. “Students were to choose an object(s) from home and write a fiction piece about them in quarantine for some disease, “ Martin said. “Some chose the obvious, COVID-19, others chose to create a disease of their own.”

Once upon a time, in a land surrounded by country, there was a pillow.

Now this land was peaceful, but there was a problem — a major problem.

A contagious disease called COVID-19 had spread across the world.

From continent to continent, this virus was spread.

When pillow heard this news, he was scared to go outside or go anywhere. He feared he would get COVID germs.

But he was most importantly scared for his pillow friends at the stores.

Pillow lived in Madison County Indiana, which the county had a lot of cases and the fourth-most deaths.

Pillow decided it would be best just to stay inside of his home, but he wanted to go outside, so he did.

Pillow went swimming on a raft recently bought.

He enjoyed swimming, but little did he know, there were COVID germs in the water.

Pillow had perfect health for the next eight days, but on Day 9, it finally gave him symptoms.

Pillow had a fever and a horrible cough for about five days before visiting a doctor.

Dr. Pillow tested Pillow, and Pillow tested positive.

Dr. Pillow said to get some rest, as it does not affect pillows of his age that much. Pillow continued to have a cough for the next six days, until Pillow finally recovered.

He shared his experience on Social Media; it spread like wildfire.

Pillow taught other pillows to stay inside, and everyone listened.

Pillow became a hero. Legend has it that this pillow still exists in the same place it has always been.
