Purell woke up on a conveyor belt in a hot and damp warehouse. Looking around, Purell realized that other hand sanitizer bottles were on conveyor belts, too. All of them were sliding off the belt into reused boxes with Walmart printed on the side.

Purell was put into one of these boxes, and then someone put strong tape over the top. Inside the dark box there were lots of hand sanitizer bottles. All were a light shade of green just like Purell. After some tossing, turning and bumps, all of the hand sanitizers were loaded onto a shelf and displayed for humans who walked down the aisle.

After hearing humans talk about things in the aisle, Purell found that the reason he was made was to clean people’s hands so they would not get a virus. This virus is called Pantone448 C. This is very awful for hand sanitizers like Purell because if a hand sanitizer is used until he or she is empty, they die! But Purell was fine because he was not yet purchased.

The day came when Purell was taken off the shelf. The cashier picked up Purell and scanned him. Then he was set on a belt and he got shoved into a plastic bag. He was carried out of the store into a car and sprayed down with Lysol. Then his new owner immediately picked up Purell and pushed on his head to get a big helping of hand sanitizer.

Purell was terrified because his new owner was a germaphobe. This meant Purell had to escape his new owner or be used up and die. He had to get out of his new germaphobic owner’s house. Now!

He is on the kitchen table, slides across the floor, steers clear of the cat, and bounces over the carpet, leaving no trace. All of the sudden the bedroom door opens and Purell has to freeze in plain sight. His owner goes over to pet the cat and makes herself a cup of coffee. Purell sighs a sigh of relief and silently slips back to his spot by the kitchen sink.

A month goes by, and the virus gets worse. This means Purell is used more and is now half empty. Purell starts to look at life as if the glass were half full. He remembers how he tried to escape and also how he failed.

Purell decides that things could be a lot worse and that he should not escape his owners house. After all, he has a purpose in life and that is to make people clean. That is exactly what he is going to do.
