Robert Eugene Williams, 88, of Pendleton, passed away on July 12, 2020. He was born in Muncie, Indiana on July 27, 1931, to Henry R. and Vera Viola (Campbell) Williams. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1949 and attended General Motors Institute.

He married Patricia L. (Stoner) Williams on July 15, 1951, at First Presbyterian Church in Anderson.

He was a US Army veteran and retired from Delco Remy as a Tool Design Supervisor in 1987 following 37 years of service. He was a member of Pendleton First United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He enjoyed playing golf and had coached Babe Ruth baseball.

He was a member of the Pendleton Photographic Society and did photography for the Pendleton Fire Department and Pendleton Emergency Ambulance for many years. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and IU basketball fan. He especially loved to spend time with his family.

Survivors include his five children, Linda Newill, Suzan Dillery (Allan), Ellen Martinez (Jose), Laura Williams (Shaun Navis), Robert Williams, Jr. (Deca); 10 grandchildren, Robert Newill (Krista), Andrew Newill (Amanda), Kathryn Newill, Gina Buchanan (Justin), Patricia Gallegos, Lucila Kaufman (Brian), Emilio Martinez, Jessamyn Navis, Lillian Williams, Lucas Williams; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry R. and Vera Viola (Campbell) Williams; wife, Patricia L. (Stoner) Williams; son-in-law, John Newill; sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Morris Kreegar and brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Betty Williams.

Services will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2020 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, with visitation from 1 to 4 p.m.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing will be observed and facemasks are requested.
