Two teens flown to hospital in Indianapolis

PENDLETON — Two teens were taken to hospital via helicopter tonight after a car accident at U.S. 36 and County Road 150 West in Pendleton.

They “appear to have multiple injuries, some serious,” Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger said in an email.

The county crash team was dispatched to scene at 8:24 p.m. The accident involved three teens in 2018 Ford Fiesta and an adult male driver in a 2015 Chevy Silverado pickup truck.

“Witnesses stated that the Fiesta was northbound on County Road 150 West and disregarded a stop sign, traveled into the intersection, and collided with the westbound truck which had the right of way,” Mellinger said.

The third person in the car had “less serious injuries” and was taken to St. Vincent Anderson, he said.

“The driver of the truck appeared to have minor injuries and was also taken to St Vincent Anderson,” Mellinger said.
