Three local football standouts named IFCA Senior All-State

SOUTH MADISON COUNTY — Lapel’s Parker Allman and Tanner Mroz and Pendleton Heights’ Luke Bays were named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association Senior Class All-State teams.

Allman and Mroz were named to the Class 2A team.

Bays was selected for the Class 4A team.

Allman (6-3, 215) was selected as a defensive lineman, but he contributed on both sides for the 9-3 Bulldogs.

He led all of Class 2A with 14 sacks and was fourth in the state in tackles for loss with 23.

On offense, as a tight end, Allman had 27 catches for 406 yards and five touchdowns.

The versatile Mroz (5-10, 180) was selected as a wide receiver.

This past season, Mroz had 51 catches for 1,011 yards and nine touchdowns. He averaged 19.8 yards per catch and 84.3 yards per game. He was fourth on the team in rushing with 138 yards on 15 carries.

As a defensive back, Mroz was fifth on the team in tackles with 60, including two tackles for loss and one interception. He had 10 total touchdowns and 77 points, kicking 11 PATs and connecting on three 2-point conversions.

Bays (6’0”, 175) was selected as a linebacker for the 7-4 Arabians.

He had 107 tackles, 47 more than any other Pendleton Heights player. He tied for the team’s lead with 10 tackles for loss.

Bays led the Arabians with 6.5 sacks. He also had one interception.

Bays was fourth in the Hoosier Heritage Conference in total tackles, fifth in sacks and seventh in tackles for loss.

Like the Lapel selections, Bays was a standout on both sides of the ball.

On offense, as a running back, Bays led Pendleton Heights in rushing with 631 yards, including seven touchdowns. He ranked eighth in the HHC in rushing yards.
