LAPEL — At its December monthly meeting, the Frankton-Lapel Community Schools board approved a number of items to wrap up the 2020 portion of the school year.

The board approved a tentative date for the Academic Hall of Fame Banquet for the Class of 2021. Acknowledgement of the school system’s top seniors is slated for 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 8, tentatively at Madison Park Church of God.

The banquet recognizes all members of the class with a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher.

The board also approved dates for its 2021 meetings.

The monthly assemblies are slated for Jan. 14, Feb. 11, March 11, April 15, May 13, June 10, July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9.

All dates are the second Thursday of each month, except for the April date that is scheduled around spring break.

A gift of $275 for Lapel Middle School Robotics club was accepted. The gift is from both E&B Paving ($150) and Lapel Lions Club ($125).

The board also accepted the donation of time by Michael Pelsor, who installed a new bus radio on the tower at the Administrative Office.

The last student day for the 2020 segment of the school year was Dec. 18, and the board also noted the return date for students is Jan. 4. The next school board meeting is Jan. 14.
