Republicans ‘not trying to make it harder’ to vote

I respectfully disagree with your angle in the article “Fraud, freedom, and fairness.” (Opinion, The Times-Post, March 25)

The Republicans are not trying to make it harder for people to vote. They just believe that everybody who votes in the United States of America should have to show an ID, so we can guarantee only one vote per one living, registered, American citizen.

This protects the integrity of our elections.

And if IDs and transportation to polling sites is more difficult for some groups of people, we should put the effort into fixing these issues instead of just sending out mass blank ballots all across America.

Fix those problems instead of using them as excuses to make up your own rules.

Absentee votes are fine because they can be verified and only sent one ballot to the one that went through proper channels to receive an absentee ballot.

Finally, even though we disagree, I don’t feel any hate towards you. We can disagree and still be respectful and civil.

Although we disagree on this subject, there may be many areas that we do agree on.

We need to realize more unites us as Americans than divides us. I’m afraid we are losing that in our country.
