PENDLETON — Main Street Pendleton will play host to its annual 4th at the Falls event this year at Falls Park.

“We are excited that we can bring this free event back this year to the community after such a difficult and trying year last year,” Main Street Executive Director Jack Wilson said in a press release. “We hope that everyone can come out and come together to celebrate our country and our resilience.

“There are a few changes taking place — due to the uncertainty of COVID, when initial plans were being made — such as not having a kid’s zone or bounce houses, but we will have bands, food vendors and fireworks for the whole family.”

Desserts and music will take place in or near the gazebo at the front of the park. Good’s Ice Cream truck and the Sigma Phi Gamma strawberry shortcake will be available starting at 4 p.m.

Sarah Howe and pianist John D. Leap are set to perform on stage from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Corey Cox Band will perform from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m..

Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m., being set off from the Sports Complex fields.

The best viewing places will be in the parking lot at the Sports Complex or the green space between the Community Building Circle and the railroad tracks.

Fireworks are sponsored by Community Hospital. Music is provided by Fredericks Construction, Citizens State Bank, Berline Construction, Kemper Electric and SJS Associates LLC (Stephen J Schug CFP).

Main Street Pendleton’s mission is to “Encourage restoration and revitalization in downtown Pendleton that results in economic development and a positive sense of community.”
