GREENFIELD
Thomas R. “Tom” Hunt, age 70, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 12, 2021. He was born in Anderson, Indiana on December 30, 1950, to Max Hunt and Betty (Holland) Hunt. He graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 1972 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. On July 19, 1983, he married Gayle L. Leonard.
He worked at Precoat Metals in Greenfield from 1974 and retired in 2016. Tom continued working part time transporting vehicles from auctions and dealerships. He attended Park Chapel Christian Church and loved all sports, especially the Colts, Pacers and Hoosiers. He was a hardworking man who loved spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Hunt of Greenfield; sons, Kolby Hunt of Greenfield and Corey Hunt (Lauren) of Greenfield; grandchildren, Cade and Cannon Hunt; brother, Ron Hunt of Pendleton; and sister, Sandy Scheper (Marshall) of Fishers. He was preceded in death by his parents; Max and Betty; and brothers, Jim, David, and Bobby Hunt.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m.
