PENDLETON — Nicole Marie “Niki” Hays, 48, of Pendleton passed away Sept. 22, 2021, peacefully at her home surrounded by family. She was born Dec. 11, 1972, in Angola, Indiana, and was a Pendleton resident since 1974. She was a 1991 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School.
Niki worked for UPS as an operations manager specialist for 29 years.
Survivors include her husband, Erik Hays; children Riley and Austin; parents David and Patricia (Clark) Ballenger; sister Angie Ballenger; parents-in-law Lou Ann (Steve) Jameson and Dave (Debbie) Hays; sisters-in-law Carrie (Trent) Whitaker and Kelly (Andrew) Newkirk; nephews Devon and Luke Whitaker; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Best friends Amber Shupe and Troy McKinley, along with countless loving friends.
Niki loved her family, friends, and her fur babies more than anything. Some of her favorite hobbies include running, baking, scrapbooking, enjoying the outdoors, and being the loudest cheer mom for her children’s activities.
A celebration of Niki’s life took place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Fall Creek Christian Church, 1102 W. County Road 700S, Pendleton, with Tom Wiles officiating.
Graveside services followed at Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton.
Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at the church.
