Pendleton Heights Class of ‘22 Top 10%, Take 2

PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights High School recognizes the Top 10 Percent of its graduating class each year.

There are 35 students in that group for the Class of 2022. The countdown continues this week with Nos. 28 to 22. It will continue through several editions of The Times-Post.

William Bluel is currently ranked No. 28 with a grade-point average (GPA) of 12.0741. He is the son of Merilee and Mike Bluel. William has participated in tennis, golf, Student Council, Bring Change to Mind, Beta, VEX Robotics, Purdue Bridge Bust and Best Buddies; he is class president and National Honor Society president. He intends to study mechanical engineering at Purdue University and work in a related field.

William Kaster is currently ranked No. 27 with a GPA of 12.1224. He is the son of Kate and Greg Kaster. He has played football and rugby and been a member of Beta and National Honor Society. William is going to play football at DePauw University and study economics. He hopes to have a career in economics soon after college.

Luke Candiano is currently ranked No. 26 with a GPA of 12.16. He is the son of Tony and Pam Candiano. He played on the football and basketball teams and was a member of Beta, National Honor Society, Student Athletic Council, and Spanish Club. He enjoys fishing, being outdoors, hanging out with his friends and playing videos. Luke will attend DePauw University, where he will play football and study business economics. Luke’s goal is to work in sales or sports management.

Braydon Webster is currently ranked No. 25 with a GPA of 12.1961. He is the son of Ryan and Heather Webster. He is part of the golf and tennis teams as well as Beta and National Honor Society. Braydon is involved in youth group and rugby. He will study history and political science at DePauw University with aspirations of becoming a lawyer.

Tyler Hollendonner is currently ranked No. 23 with a GPA of 12.2041. He is the son of Stacey and Keith Hollendonner. He has been a member of the swim team. Tyler plans to attend Hanover College and double major in biology and chemistry. He hopes to be dermatologist.

Cooper Gayle is currently ranked No. 23 with a GPA of 12.2041. He is the son of Susan and Jeffrey Gayle. Cooper was a member of German Club. He is interested in robotics, programming, and engineering. He will attend Purdue Polytechnic Anderson starting with a multidisciplinary study and he will then focus on a specific study later. Although Cooper is uncertain of a specific career, he does want to work in the electrical or mechanical engineering field.

Kylie Day is currently ranked No. 22 with a GPA of 12.2105. She is the daughter of Joshua and Melissa Day. Kylie is a member of Beta, National Honor Society, Pendletones, Emerald Suites, Pendleton Players and the Rookie EMT Program. She is very active in her church and enjoys going to the gym. Kylie will attend Indiana State University to earn a degree in nursing. She hopes to be a traveling pediatric nurse and be a university instructor after earning her master’s degree.
