Lapel girls golf competes at invitational
LAPEL — Lapel High School golfer Macy Beeson began her senior season with medalist and runner-up honors during the Bulldogs at the Hamilton Southeastern Invitational recently.
The Bulldogs placed eighth of 10 teams with a score of 387 at Stonycreek Golf Club in Noblesville.
Beeson was a 2 over par 72, which was good enough for runner-up honors.
Other scores: Grace Martin 94, Rosemary Likens 94, Elly Carey 127, Jordi Pilkington 132.
Beeson was invited to play at the Indiana High School Athletic Association Fall Preview on Aug. 6 at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel. She shot an 82.
Arabians golf defeats Mt. Vernon
PENDLETON — The Arabians opened their season Aug. 1 playing in the Plainfield Invitational followed by a trip to Mt. Vernon Aug. 4.
The Arabians defeated Mt. Vernon 193-196 at Arrowhead Golf Course in Greenfield.
Low medalist for the Arabians were juniors Audrey Jenkins and Skylar Baldwin, each with a 46. Junior Kelsey Day carded a 50, and sophomore Addison Summerall shot a 51. Junior Addison Nichols shot a 56, and senior Zoe Morris shot a 59.
With only two practices under their belt, the Arabians played their first 18-hole round at the Plainfield Invitational where they finished 10th.
Scores: Team 434
Individual scores: Jenkins 104, Baldwin 105, Day 110, Nichols 115. Summerall 120, Morgan Bricker 122.
Coach Hilary Slick said this was Bricker’s first tournament and only her third round of golf ever.
