PENDLETON — Organizers couldn’t have asked for better conditions — just as the day began Saturday for Christmas in Pendleton, so did the snow, kicking off a holiday celebration perfectly in step with Mother Nature.
“Oh, my goodness, it was so good,” organizer Niki Brown said.
“I really was not expecting snow, but it really made it a magical day,” Brown said. “Once I said, ‘OK, I don’t have to make snow, God is providing it for me,’ it was really nice.”

Hats, mittens and winter coats were donned by many visiting the annual Pendleton Business Association (PBA) event, which included a parade, carriage rides in the park, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and a children’s play area and storytimes.
All the festivities were intermingled with participating shops and vendors, eager to get a jump start to the holiday selling season.
“Everyone had a great day. There were so many vendors (that) sold out of their product,” Brown said. “And our businesses had a spectacular day. So it was a success for the town of Pendleton.”
