Pendleton Heights High School Top 10%, Take 4

PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights High school recognizes the Top 10% of the year’s graduating class.

There are 32 students in that group for the Class of 2023. The countdown concludes this week with Nos. 8 through 1.

Eliza Findlay

Eliza Findlay is currently ranked No. 8 with a grade-point average of 12.7358. She is the daughter of Brock and Rebecca Findlay. Eliza has participated in softball, soccer, Student Council (vice president), National Honor Society (vice president), Beta Club, Spanish Club and National Spanish Honor Society. She plans to attend Hope College where she will study pre-med with a major in biochemistry and a minor in Spanish. She also plans to play softball.

 

Cohen Gray

Cohen Gray is currently ranked No. 7 with a GPA of 12.8039. He is the son of Michael and Kristen Gray. Michael has participated in Student Athletic Council, Athletes of Character, Beta Club, National Honor Society and the golf team. Other interests include youth group. He plans to attend Indiana Wesleyan and study pre-med. His goal is to become an optometrist.

 

Kaitlyn Prickett

Kaitlyn Prickett is currently ranked No. 6 with a GPA of 12.825. She is the daughter of April and C.J. Prickett. Kaitlyn has participated in soccer, Student Athletic Council, National Honor Society, Beta Club, basketball, track and field, and French Club. Other interests include travel soccer at Hoosier F.C. and Pendleton First United Methodist Church youth group. She plans to attend Waynesburg University where she will major in chemistry, with a minor in psychology. She also plans to play D3 Soccer. Her goal is to obtain a Ph.D in pharmacy and become a pharmacist.

Madelyn Heineman

Madelyn Heineman is currently ranked No. 5 with a GPA of 13.1569. She is the daughter of Matthew and Michelle Heineman. Madelyn has participated in National Honor Society, Student Council, Student Athletic Council, Athletes of Character, Spanish Honor Society, Spanish Club, soccer, diving and Beta Club. Other interests include volunteering at youth church camp with Pendleton Christian Church. She plans to attend Indiana University, Bloomington where she will major in chemistry with a minor in Spanish. Her goal is to become a pediatric dentist.

Noah Tannas

Noah Tannas is currently ranked No. 4 with a GPA of 13.1636. He is the son of Heather and Doug Tannas. Noah has participated in marching band, pep band, Jazz Express, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Beta Club, German Club and Science Academic Team. Other interests include Piano lessons, origami and reading. He plans to attend Northwestern University where he will major in applied math. His career goal is undecided at this time.

Cooper Ramsey

Cooper Ramsey is currently ranked No. 3 with a GPA of 13.1739. He is the son of Shannon and Bill Ramsey. Cooper has participated in the English Academic Team and The Muse. Cooper plans to attend The University of Maine at Machias, where he will major in marine biology. His goal is to become a marine biologist.

 

 

Alia Walters

Alia Walters is currently ranked No. 2 with a GPA of 13.2115. She is the daughter of Todd and Ashley Walters. Alia has participated in swim team, National Honor Society, Beta Club, German Club, Outdoor Adventure Club and Fine Arts Academic Team. Other interests include Pendleton Swim Club, painting, drawing and hiking. She plans to attend Purdue University where she will major in psychology and follow a pre-med track. Her goal is to become a psychiatrist.

Samantha Green

Samantha Green is currently ranked No. 1 with a GPA of 13.3774. She is the daughter of Bill and Kelli Green. Samantha has participated in cross country, track and field, tennis, soccer, Best Buddies, Arabian Allies, National Honor Society (president), Beta Club, Student Council and Steering Committee (Class of 2023 secretary). She is also involved with Second Family (youth group at Pendleton Christian Church) and Rookie EMT at the Pendleton Emergency Ambulance and Pendleton Fire Department. She plans to attend The University of Notre Dame where she will major in biochemistry with a special interest in Spanish. Her goal is to become a dermatologist.
