MADISON COUNTY —Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E & B Paving plans to close a section of State Road 9 near Pendleton beginning “on or after” Friday, according to INDOT.

Crews will close the road in both directions between State Road 234 and U.S. 36 for patching and paving operations.

Work is expected to be complete mid October, weather permitting.

The official detour for this project is State Road 234 to State Road 109 to U.S. 36, an INDOT press release states.

INDOT also reminded drivers to slow down, use caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
