INDIANAPOLIS — All Good Dawgs, the Butler alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament’s (TBT) regional at Hinkle Fieldhouse July 19-24, announced the roster addition of former Butler Bulldog Sean McDermott.

McDermott now joins Shelvin Mack as the first two player commitments on All Good Dawgs inaugural roster.

“I’m elated that this opportunity has presented itself,” McDermott said. “I know we are still months away, but I can’t stop thinking about what it is going to feel like to play in Hinkle again. I can’t wait to put a Butler jersey on and represent the Dawgs in front of the Butler faithful.”

McDermott, a local star at Pendleton Heights, played at Butler from 2016-20. McDermott was a contributor on two NCAA Tournament teams, including the 2017 Sweet 16 team.

As a full-time starter his senior season, McDermott helped Butler earn a Hall of Fame Classic championship.

The McDermott-led Bulldogs were also slated for an NCAA Tournament bid in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the event to be canceled.

After graduating from Butler, McDermott spent his rookie season on a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, appearing in 18 games that season.

After two seasons in the G League, McDermott currently plays in Italy.

Additional roster announcements will be made during the coming months via All Good Dawgs’ social media pages, @AllGoodDawgsTBT.

All Good Dawgs will be joined in the Butler Regional this summer alongside seven other teams, all vying for TBT’s $1 million grand prize.

Tickets for the 2024 Butler Regional will go on sale at a later date. To be the first to secure tickets for the event, fans can sign up at thetournament.com/tbt/tickets.
