LAPEL — Lapel High School’s class of 2024 celebrated graduation on Sunday, June 2. The 126th annual ceremony took place at 5 p.m. inside Lapel High School.
This year’s class – made up of 121 students – took on the motto “Watch us soar as the class of ‘24”, and had class colors of peach, sunset yellow, and white. The class flower was the White Carnation.
Speakers at the event included class representatives Kenedi Campbell, Sophia McCrory, and Macey Willis, along with Sophia Lewis and Class President Shyam Lewis.
Class sponsors were Derek DeSpain and Zach Newby.
Principal Matthew Boles presented the class, and Superintendent Sterling Boles handed out the diplomas.
The Lapel Band performed “Incantations”, and the choir sang “Until We Sing Again”.
Along with the class of 2024, the class of 1974 was recognized.
