Martha E. (Prigg) Jones, 94, Anderson, passed away April 18, 2011 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson. She was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Madison County, Ind., and resided in Madison County all of her life.
Martha was a 1935 graduate of Markleville High School. She was a homemaker and retired as the bookkeeper for the family business, Jones Hi-Fi Sound Supply after 45 years of service. She was a 50-plus year member of the Markleville Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 363.
She is survived by her son, John Michael Jones, of Anderson; daughter, Linda K. Jones, of New Castle; two grandchildren, Laura Richardson (Ron) and Brian Brown; four great grandchildren, Hollyann Hampton, Alex Brown, Matthew Hampton and Amanda Hampton, all of Orlando, Fla.; several nieces and nephews, including niece, Teresa Collett of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Letha F. (Keesling) Prigg; husband, John S. Jones, Jr., whom she married Dec. 17, 1938; daughter, Helen Brown, and sister, Anna Mae Collett.
Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jane Evanstar officiating. Burial was at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
