Clifford "Jerry" Hiatt, 76, Lapel, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at his home following an extended illness. He was born on Sept. 16, 1936, in Sheridan, Ind., to Clifford and Ruby (Harbaugh) Hiatt.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis (Manis) Hiatt; two children, Kim (Dan) Myers of Independence, Mo., and Kent Hiatt of Lapel; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Merrill (Marty) Hiatt and John (Barbara) Hiatt; and three sisters, Sara Malan, Mary (Scott) Hiatt, and Susan (Andy) Neihaus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Ronald; and one brother, Russell Hiatt; and two great-granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Mr. Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
