Timothy Lee "Tim" Carlin, 54, Lapel, died on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012. He was born on Sept. 15, 1958, in Anderson, to Joseph and Patsy (Risco) Carlin.He was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his father, Joseph L. Carlin of Lapel; sister, Patricia J. (Harold) McDermit of Anderson; three nieces; and two stepnieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and a niece, Natalie Sprague.

Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on  Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dillard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
