Hobbs 2nd at Lapel Invitational

ANDERSON–The Lapel girls golf invitational was held Saturday at The Edge with the host Bulldogs finishing eighth and Pendleton Heights 14th in the 18-team field.

Lapel junior Kristen Hobbs, with birdies on the par-five third and sixth holes, finished with a five over par 77, putting her in second place overall individually.

The Bulldogs team score of 385 was just three strokes back of seventh place Park Tudor, but 35 shots off the pace set by the invitational champions from Franklin County.

Junior Lauren Lutz came in with a 94 for Lapel, while freshman Sierra Campbell posted a 101 and senior Bridget Mudd rounded out the Bulldog scoring with a 113.

Sophomore Danielle Tinsley was the low Arabian with a round of 92, followed by senior Kiersten Maxwell with a 105, junior Haley Brown a 106, and freshman Ryann Norris with a 127.

Lapel will return to The Edge today to host Muncie Central at 4:30 p.m. before travelling to Lawrence Central Tuesday. Pendleton Heights will host Hamilton Southeastern Wednesday and Knightstown Thursday.

Both Lapel and Pendleton Heights will return to The Edge Saturday for the Madison County tournament, set to get started at 1 p.m.
