Local art society offers batik class

PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society plans several upcoming art classes at Gallery 119 in Pendleton:

• Batik Art Painting Class — from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 28. Lynn Medsker will teach a class in batik painting, which will combine drawing, dying with inks and liquid watercolor, and adding embellishments as desired. Students will have time to create two or three small pieces. Since it involves using hot wax and an iron, the class is not recommended for children under age 12. Class fee is $65. No experience is necessary, and all supplies are included. Class size is limited to eight.

The gallery is located at 119 W. State St.

People can register during regular gallery hours, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, or by phone at 765-778-0986.

Online registration can be done at pendletonartistssociety.org/events/.
