PENDLETON — Dozens of cyclists participated in the Heroes Crit & Fit Day Saturday, July 28, in Pendleton, a series of cycling races sponsored by the Heroes Foundation.

The foundation is a non-profit organization that supports people with cancer as well as cancer prevention and research.

There were eight timed races throughout the day ranging from 30 to 75 minutes in length. The course started and finished on Falls Park Drive and incorporated portions of East Street, Water Street and North Pendleton Avenue.

In addition to the races, there were family activities all day, with a focus on healthy lifestyles and wellness, and education on cancer prevention.
